Bradford C. Newton, executive secretary, ministerial secretary
The Secretary of the Pacific Union Conference is an administrative officer, along with the President, the Treasurer and the Vice President. The Secretary provides administrative leadership and management for departmental directors and associates and directs the ministerial department of the Pacific Union Conference.
The Executive Secretary also helps direct the work of the Executive Committee and supervises the implementation of its actions. The Secretary keeps most of the official records of the Pacific Union, such as the minutes and the index of the Pacific Union Conference Executive Committee. He also issues the appropriate credentials and licenses for Pacific Union personnel.
About Bradford C. Newton
Bradford C. Newton was elected executive secretary of the Pacific Union on March 5, 2008. Newton became executive secretary after serving as president of Nevada-Utah Conference since 2004. From 1999 to 2004 Newton served as the government relations director and associate public affairs and religious liberty director of the Pacific Union. Before assuming responsibilities in religious liberty, Newton served as the senior pastor of the Simi Valley church in Southern California and pastor of a number of congregations in the Illinois Conference. In January of 2010, he assumed the additional responsibility of Union Ministerial Director.
A native of Arcadia, California, Newton received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Master of Divinity degree and Doctor of Ministry degree from Andrews University.
Bradford's wife, Jennifer Christian Newton, is a health care management consultant. The Newtons have two children; Amanda who is employed in the finance department at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and Tyler, who is the Employment Manager for Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora, California.

Jennifer Newton, M.B.A., associate ministerial secretary
The Associate Ministerial Secretary provides leadership in the support, training, and resourcing of the spouses of pastors within the Pacific Union Conference. This includes working with the local conference pastoral spouse leaders to create resources and implement programming within their respective territories. The Associate Ministerial Secretary is also engaged in the work of meeting planning for the annual WestPoint program, the quinquinniel Union Ministerial Council, as well as other events associated with the department.
About Jennifer Newton
Jennifer Newton was appointed as Associate Ministerial Secretary in a voluntary role by the Union Executive Committee on March 15, 2012. She comes to this role with over 30 years of experience as a pastoral and administrative spouse as well as a deep love and concern for the work of local church pastoral families. She has conducted seminars for pastors’ meetings and local churches in the areas of family finances and how to experience joy amidst the challenge of “living in the fishbowl” of pastoral ministry. Newton received her B.A. in Business from Andrews University and holds an M.B.A. in Project Management. She is employed as a health care management consultant and is an active member of the Religious Conference Management Association. She is married to Bradford and is the happy mother of two grown children; Amanda who is employed in the finance department of Glendale Adventist Medical Center in Glendale, California, and Tyler, who is the employment manager for Sonora Regional Medical Center in Sonora, California.
